A blog post written a few weeks ago that I forgot to post

This summer has been nothing short of extraordinary. From the warm, sun-soaked days spent riding horses to the exhilarating cutting competitions and rodeos, every moment has shaped me in ways I never expected. The friendships I’ve made along the way have been the icing on the cake, leaving me with memories I’ll cherish forever.

As someone who’s always had a passion for horses, this summer deepened that love even further. There’s something about the connection between rider and horse that I can’t quite put into words - it’s a bond that goes beyond trust, it feels almost spiritual. The world of cowboys is no longer a dream but a reality I’m living every day, and I’ve set my sights on winning a buckle before I head back to the UK. It’s not just a goal; it’s a promise to myself that I’ll push until I’ve earned it.

September feels like a beautiful bridge between seasons. It’s a time of transition, where summer’s warmth lingers just long enough to blend with the crispness of fall. The month symbolises change and growth, a reminder that nothing stays the same - and I’ve learned to embrace it. This journey in Canada has been about more than just horses or cutting competitions; it’s been about self-discovery and leaning into the person I’m becoming.

With the cold weather looming on the horizon, I find myself eager for the challenge. The thought of experiencing sub-30 temperatures is thrilling. Coming from a place where the winters are much milder, I’m curious to see how I’ll fare. But with the cold comes a whole new set of adventures, and I can’t wait to dive into them.

This is just the beginning. As the seasons change, so do I, and I’m looking forward to what winter will bring. From the freezing mornings on horseback to the endless learning opportunities, learning how to cross country ski and snow shoe, ice hockey, skating and so much more. And when it’s time to look back on it all, I know the memories I make will be just as magical as those from this unforgettable summer.
